Korean Terminology

Printer Friendly ImagePrinter Friendly

Some Korean Language for you to familiarise yourselves with.

This section is divided into:-

- Stances- Blocking techniques
- Punching techniques- Kicking techniques
- Counting- Parts of the body
- Competition terms- The disciplines of Taekwondo

Note: All of these phrases are spelt 'phonetically' - that is they are spoken as they are spelt in the English language. You will often find varying spelling of many of the phrases, because at the end of the day it is quite hard to translate the Korean pronunciation. However, these are near enough for you to get a good idea how to say each phrase/word.
